Inspiration Sunday: 12/29/13

Initially, I wanted to find a photo for Inspiration Sunday that had to do with Christmas or New Years (how can it already be the last Sunday of 2013!?). Then, I stumbled on this photo:

I’m obsessed with the cool colors with warm bokeh (the circles due to taking photos of lights out of focus). There’s something so comforting about this photo; it would look gorgeous in my bedroom!

Caleb Turns One | Southern Maryland Family Photographer

This sweet little guy turned one at the end of October and I finally got his portrait done. We ended up doing it in the front yard. It wasn’t my first choice, but I love how it turned out, because we will always have these photos of him in front of our first home.

It’s a good reminder that great portraits do not need any kind of fancy location. We used this very special rocking chair to make his session even more unique. It was given to my dad as a small child and passed down to Caleb since he and my dad never got to meet. Those little things are what make memorable photos.
